Iguazu Falls - Puerto Iguazu - Argentina

Our 34 hour coach journey yesterday turned out to be a 39 hour journey in the end....so after surviving that we're pretty confident we can do anything. We were confident that the minor setback would not prevent us from visiting the Brazilian side of the falls, but alas when we left our hostel light thunderstorms began. Alas out evening was not ruined; we visited the bars and restaurants of Iguazu instead.

The Iguazu falls were simply breath taking - definitely worth the journey and the expense. It was our first tick off the 'wish list' so we're feeling happy and more backpackeresque. Also i'm glad I invested in a waterproof camera for some of the up-close views and boat-ride. The boat takes you into the falls and was only a little slower than a speedboat- so still fast enough to give your stomach that excited somersault feeling. Kath and I were seated at the back and were a little excitable to say the least. It was soooo much fun and we got absolutely drenched! We only wished it had lasted longer, but to do that was significantly more expensive and these few days alone have cost us nearly our weeks budget. Our wallets have got sizeably lighter in Argentina - it's so expensive! Luckily it's been the first leg of the trip so everywhere else should feel more affordable.

We're now travelling back to Buenos Aires so that we can partaaaaay on the weekend and do a few other cultural things we missed. A steak restaurant for Kath, La Boca for me and the famous San Termo market on Sunday. The two Swedish girls we met in Mendoza are also arriving sat morning and will be in the same hostel so we'll be reunited for Saturday nights adventures. We also met this lovely girl from London in Iguazu and shes doing her year abroad in BA so she'll be taking us to a few of her favourite spots with her friends. All in all a lot of fun things planned, canny wait!
